Valerie June Neeposh is an aspiring classical musician studying at the University of Ottawa specializing on the Trumpet and Music Education and is currently playing with the Wind Ensemble at the School of Music. Valerie maintains a Cree way of life and has knowledge of preparing traditional foods and understanding of the land that she learns from her parents and grandparents. Valerie is extremely dedicated to her community of Waswanipi and aspires to bring music to Eeyou-Istchee while motivating youth to pursue a post-secondary education. Valerie believes every Indigenous youth’s dreams deserves to be heard because every child’s dream matters.
