Tamara Fontaine is a 27-year-old Anishinaabe woman from Sagkeeng First Nations, living in Winnipeg with her ten-year-old son, Noah. As a proud single mother, she has overcome the challenges of poverty and teen motherhood, graduating high school with honors while raising her son. Tamara is currently pursuing a Social Work degree at the University of Manitoba, driven by her dedication to Indigenous advocacy and justice. Actively involved in her community, she volunteers and participates in leadership programs like the Indigenous Circle of Empowerment at the University of Manitoba. Deeply connected to her culture, Tamara engages in traditional ceremonies and practices Jingle Dress dancing, striving to inspire others and create meaningful change.
