Riane Sewap is a Plains and Woodlands Cree woman and a proud member of Kawacatoose First Nation in Treaty 4 Territory, Turtle Island. She is currently an Indigenous Justice and Criminology student at the University of Saskatchewan and graduated from Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies with a diploma in Mental Health and Wellness. She was previously an Indigenous youth worker and has completed field placements where she met with Indigenous individuals experiencing addictions, houselessness, domestic violence, and intergenerational trauma. She is passionate about mental health awareness and hopes to fight for the rights of Indigenous Peoples.
