Kaneisha is proudly from Moose Cree and Fort Albany First Nation. She is a mother and caregiver to two girls. Having overcome foster care, some homelessness, and experiencing intergenerational trauma. Kaneisha now uses her experiences to empower others. As a researcher with Neekeewanan, she helps uncover the truth about St.Anne’s Residential School. She also leads intergenerational trauma workshops and delivers keynote speeches sharing her story of resilience. Kaneisha is a passionate advocate for Indigenous communities and the indigenous families within the child welfare sector. Her mission is to empower, and promote the importance of culture and connection for healing.
