Jonessa Strawberry is from O’Chiese First Nation in treaty 6 territory. This proud Cree and Saulteaux women is also the creator of Binehsih. Binehsih platform raises awareness on issues indigenous people face or have faced in Canada. Jonessa advocates for her indigenous history as when she attended elementary school she was taught wrong and found out years later. Jonessa has been invited to multiple schools to teach about her Platform. When Jonessa isn’t advocating she enjoys modelling, volunteering and her animals she adopted two tortoises and a chihuahua. Jonessa also loves read, attend to her garden and create shell jewelry.
