Asha, a proud Maliseet and Mi’kmaq woman from Neqotkuk First Nation in Wolastoqey Territory, owns Bear Beadwork and enjoys Film making. She produced two award-winning short films. She completed her Master in Education in Counselling in 2024, she enjoys singing and grounding herself with her beadwork while supporting her people through art and counselling. Asha is eager to showcase her culture through Miss Indigenous Canada, aiming to raise awareness about Indigenous voices in arts and mental health. By sharing her story, she seeks to inspire others and empower her community, highlighting the resilience of Maliseet and Mi’kmaq heritage.
